Water Preparation and Storage Tanks

Water is an important beer ingredient, but it is also essential for the technological process (cooling, warming) and for cleaning purposes, so its consumption in the beer brewing process is quite substantial.

That is why it is important to approach water preparation as seriously as any other part of the beer brewing process - by planning. Water preparation and storage tanks are more economical and make the process more efficient. For example, water can be heated with the excess heat produced during the brewing process, while the insulated tanks have minimal heat loss.

At Škrlj d.o.o., we manufacture preparation and storage tanks for cold and hot water. The tanks have a double jacket and are insulated. They can be connected to the brewhouse, so a brewer can set the temperature parameters and check the temperature conditions using the central control panel.

Hot water tanks

Hot water tanks are used for storing and, if needed, reheating the hot water that is needed in the brewing process.

The tanks are equipped with a heating jacket (pillow plate) in the cylindrical and/or bottom part. Different heating zones can be regulated separately. The tank can be connected to the brewhouse system, so water can be heated with the excess heat produced during the wort cooling process.

Cold water tanks

Cold water tanks are used for cooling and storing cold water, needed in the beer brewing process.

The cold water flowing through the plate heat exchanger cools down the wort. The excess heat that is produced in this process is transferred into the water, which consequently warms it up. This water is then stored in the hot water tank, which makes the whole process both energy-efficient and water-saving.
