Supercritical water extraction

 

One of the goals we've been focusing on recently has been the transition to a sustainable business. That is why we applied for the public tender titled "Promoting sustainable business strategic transformation and the development of new business models in Slovenian companies for an easier integration into the global value chains".

During the first part (Part A) of the project, we developed our company's 2020-2025 sustainable business strategy under the guidance of an external expert and with the support of SPIRIT Slovenija. The new strategy has already shown some positive short-term effects, which are reflected in an increased planning efficiency and a more optimal utilization of the company's production capacity.

At the end of 2020 we successfully completed the second part i.e. the implementation phase of the project (Part B). This part consisted of manufacturing a prototype extraction device, which replaces the synthetic solvents used in the extraction process with supercritical water. The purpose of this project was to build an operational pilot device for the extraction of bioactive substances from agricultural residues and waste. The prototype has since been approved, and our research and development department is already conducting additional research in the field of supercritical water extraction, as there are very few such solutions on the market.
